Frequently Asked Questions

How do Britannia deal with a child's separation issues?
Children are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. When you leave your child in our care, believe it or not but it is often you who needs to be ready, rather than your son or daughter. Of course every child is different and they will settle into a new environment at their own pace. All our teachers have a wealth of experience settling children in and will be there to support you and your child.
When is the right time to bring my child to school?
No matter the age of the child, there will always be a separation period that is difficult and it doesn’t get any easier as your child gets older. At Britannia we are not like other schools, we believe school should be a “home from home”, where children feel comfortable and confident in their surroundings.
Can my child go to your school part-time

Flexibility for parents is important to us, and we will try to be as flexible as possible. However, routine is key to starting school life and our nurturing and caring environment will help your child adapt quicker if they attend five days as oppose to say three. Current research and our experience has shown that children that attend regularly from the youngest age, are much more well adapted, are confident in social situations and usually achieve higher academic attainment than children that join later.

Opening Times

We are open 8.30am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday but please check our school holidays in the school calendar.

School hours for the children are from 8.30am to 3:15pm.
