Dear parents and carers,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the head teacher of Britannia school. Firstly, I have to tell you that I have two main passions in life – children and teaching. I would like to provide you with some background on my professional experience, and secondly tell you the skills and knowledge that I believe I’m contributing to Britannia School.

I started my career in working with young children in 2006 in the United Kingdom. The first post I had was working as a play worker in an after school club. I thought this role would just be a temporary one, however I began to take a real interest in working with children. I decided to train to work in early years and filled a position at a charity run nursery. It was there that I learnt about the early years curriculum, and had the privilege of working with children from three months to four years old. This role was not only beneficial to my understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, but this experience allowed me to develop my skills in working with the wider community. It was this position that fueled my passion for teaching children.

In 2009 I was offered a position at one of the leading international schools in Moscow. I enjoyed the challenge of teaching EYFS in a non-English speaking country. Through this experience I gained valuable skills in teaching emergent bilingual children, and implementing the early years curriculum in a school-based environment. During my 7 years in Moscow I have had the opportunity of working in three international schools with one of my prior roles being the Head of Early Years. In this management position, I established all the educational processes and teaching practices from Pre-nursery, Nursery and Reception at a newly launched school.

I received my university education in England where I graduated with an honors degree in psychology and a diploma in child daycare. I believe that my psychology degree is a real asset as it gives me deep understanding of the different learning styles of my children. My psychology augmented by my professional experience prepared me for catering to the individual needs of every child.

Contemporary dance is my passion. I had professional training in this field. Over the years I have created my own syllabus for teaching dance to children under the age of five. I really look forward to teaching dance classes in our brand new beautiful sports hall, which will be complete with full-length mirrors and bars.

I believe that the knowledge and experience that I have built over the last ten years uniquely positions me to run a school were children are able to reach their highest potential. In early years children really do learn the key skills that they will carry for the rest of the life. I am looking forward to building the best early years school in Moscow.
